GLAMORISING VAMPIRISM

So as I was watching a vampire movie couple of day ago I got a idea of writing about it and also thought writing its effects on fashion, movies, games etc. and how it influencing common people life

So now I start…..

Vampire is a being that live or subsists on feeding on the life essence generally in form of blood of living creature (human). It is said in tales and by our elders (generally grandmother or grandfather) that vampires often visits loved ones and cause mischief or death.

It is also said that a Vampire can only create another Vampire than logically from where first Vampire came??? Well it’s more like chicken and the egg argument.

According Scriptures of Delphi specifically in the collection of writing known as “The Vampire Bible” the first Vampire started out as not a Vampire at all but as a normal human being named as Ambrogio, he was an Italian born adventurer who fate brought to Delphi , in Greece but a series of blessings and curses turned this young man into Vampire

It began with sun god Apollo (Greek mythology) who in a rage cursed Ambrogio that his skin would burn if sunlight falls on him again, Ambrogio bad luck does not come to end after this as he ended up gambling away his soul to Hades , the god of underworld (Greek mythology) after that the next curse came from Apollo’s sister Artemis , the goddess of moon and hunting (Greek mythology) who cursed Ambrogio as his skin would burn if he touches silver

Artemis, the goddess of god too gave some blessing as she felt pity on young man Ambrogio. She gave him gift of immortality, she blessed him that he would carry his curses his skin burning by sunlight or silver, but he would live forever, not only this but Artemis also gave him the speed and strength to become a hunter whose skills were second to her own.

Now coming to Vampire subculture

Vampire subculture is nothing just a another alternative lifestyle that stems from the gothic lifestyle in other words we can say Vampire or Vampire Lifestylers  are those who are more attracted to principles Vampire way of living. This Lifestyle was created in western culture, stemming from cult symbolism, horror films, Anne rice fictions novels. Vampires pride themselves for practicing principles that are antithesis of Christian ethics. Vampire Lifestyler  generally dresses like exotic Vampire like attire wear colored contacts, put on white pale makeup, dark eye shadow and black nail polish

Effects of Vampire culture on common life

If we go way back in 70’s and 80’s Vampire and Vampirism was scarier and horrifying but now it is glamorized. People don’t get scared by name of Vampire and Vampirism more often young generation is attracted by it.

Some of the reasons behind getting Vampire and Vampirism so much popular are as follows:- 

Comics and Novels

We can see above in Comic cover page and Novel cover page how Vampires are portrayed they are more glamorized rather being scary and horrifying, so from here only we can see and get a glance of idea that print media is portraying Vampires glamorized sexy and interesting personalities.

Clothing

Vampire subculture has affected clothing to the core, it has influenced many designers to design clothing line which give you glance and feeling of Vampire. Now days many designers launch and introduce whole new full clothing line influenced by Vampires which is why teenagers and young generation gets so much attracted to Vampires as they feel themselves different among the whole common crowed wearing these cloths (trust me they really become different).

If you see pictures above you will observe the type of cloths they are wearing is giving them sharp edges mostly dark color are used in it making them stand apart, they are looking smart hot and devilish .

Makeup

Vampire like makeup have made Vampirism very  glamorous and attractive mostly young girls get attracted by this kind of makeup even some of the Hollywood celebrities carried Vampire or Gothic makeup for example Avril Lavigne.

Mostly Vampire like makeup is all about dark eyes (eye shadows) pale white face and glossy dark blood red lips. In above pictures too you can see how makeup is carried by both girls to have Vampire type or Gothic type looks.

Glossy Paper Magazines

Glossy paper magazines also got affected by subculture Vampire and Vampirism and it helped making vampirism  more attractive among young people.

Glossy paper magazines made many photo shoots with celebrities keeping Vampire theme mind and also written many article on it which ultimately helped in making Vampire and Vampirism more glamorous and magnetic.As we know glossy paper magazine have mass reach which means any message passed by these magazines reaches to mass, so when they have passed message of glamorous Vampire it have travelled all over word and reached many young people fascinating luring them to adopt this subculture style and making Vampire subculture more popular. 

Movies

Movies always played a driving factor in changing mind concept of common people, movies always played a vital role in setting trends in case of Vampire and Vampirism too it played a important role.

Movies like Twilight, Jennifer’s Body and many more gave boost to Vampire an Vampirism, young generation watched these movies and get fascinated by Vampire character (obvious to get fascinated if it is played by Megan Fox) girls try to adopt the style of these character as they feel these characters are interesting and adopting their style make them stand apart from crowed. Mainly they follow the way dressing, makeup and the way they behave in the movie (apart sucking blood).

If you watch these movies the Vampire character is interesting, stylish, smart and seductive and yes guys some time scary too, these characters have all the features which will make people to attract towards them. Hence we can say these movies glamorizes subculture of Vampire.

By  summarizing we can say that Vampire subculture have changed a lot since its inception, it have influenced common people life in many ways now people are more fascinated and attracted rather getting scared and it is almost predictable that in coming days Vampire and Vampirism will change a lot and will have more effect on common people life.

If there is presence of God than surely there is Evil (Vampire) too……..
